40 hours, Monday – Friday. Hybrid working available.

As a Senior Project Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to work on ground-breaking projects that will shape the future of London Gatwick, , supporting delivery of a substantial investment plan to develop and enhance our airport infrastructure and facilities.

Your ideas will be valued, and your contributions will have a lasting impact on our organisation and for our passengers. Your role is pivotal in leading the design of large, strategically important projects for London Gatwick with typical budgets over £25m, ensuring that design meets projects requirements, whilst achieving real value for money. This role i involves every stage of the project process, ensuring that all projects are installed in accordance with approved designs.

What is the role?

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will hold a pivotal role within our organisation. You will be an integral part of our project delivery team, leading the design of substantial, strategically critical projects. Alternatively, you may supervise multiple projects within a specific sub-programme or provide support to a ProgrammeDesign Manager on more complex projects.

Other duties include:

• Developing project scope to meet the business needs along with delivering effective design management on individual projects.
• Working with multiple stakeholders to support the successful delivery of projects
• Seeking cost effective design solutions and managing external design consultants
• Providing technical input to any design changes through the lifecycle of the project
• Lead any assigned Design Management resources and fulfil a supervisory role for Project Engineers within the broader programme team.

What are we looking for?

The live environment at London Gatwick requires all our teams to have a flexible and adaptable approach, with problem solving skills and an innovative outlook. Involved in projects from inception to completion you will work alongside multiple stakeholders. In addition, this role requires:

• Educated to Degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline
• Experience in engineering design or design management on large infrastructure projects, or multi-year programmes with typically values in excess of £15m
• An understanding of the importance of controlling and managing the project close out and handover process
