One Destination Opens A World of Opportunity

Gatwick Airport – Construction

Senior Civils Project Manager – Airfield Programme

Salary:  £Competitve, plus additional benefits including car allowance, generous bonus, family medical insurance and other great benefits

The opportunity

Gatwick Airport is changing at an outstanding pace and this is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Civils Project Manager to be part of a high performing Airfield programme team building Gatwick's future infrastructure.

The Programme

The Airfield programme has a diverse and exciting programme of works ahead with a value of £120 Million in the next five years and an additional £200 Million in the five years that follow.  Our priority is to work alongside the Airside Operations teams to ensure that Gatwick can accommodate the significant increases in passenger numbers forecasted over the next 10 years.

We have a number of exciting and diverse projects, including works on the runways, piers, stands and taxiways.  Core to everything that we do is to ensure continued operational excellence and undisrupted service to our sponsors.

Much of our work has to take place during small windows of time at night and we have to go into very detailed and meticulous phases of planning to ensure we can hand back to Airside Ops every day without compromise.

The Role

The Senior Civils Project Manager manages portfolios and project teams delivering the Airfield programme of works as well as project managing large or complex projects within the programme.

Naturally, strong communication and presentation skills are needed to successfully engage with senior/exec levels of the business and airlines.

Do you have the strengths and behaviours required for this role?

  • Previous experience of managing large civils projects?
  • Are you able to motivate, influence and manage project teams in the design, procurement, construction, delivery, and handover of the projects to achieve desired business outcomes?
  • Can you drive the development and maintenance of a culture of world class health, safety, and environmental standards across the project and its associated contractors to deliver the highest levels of health, safety and environmental performance achievable.
  • Have you managed the identification and mitigation of risks that may adversely impact project delivery and embedded remedial processes and practice in place with both clients and contractors?
  • Are you an inspirational leader? Do you have experience of developing project teams - setting standards, manage, motivating, coaching and mentoring team members?

If  you can answer yes, we would encourage you to review all of the skills and experience required to be a Senior Project Manager at Gatwick Airport in the attached role profile.
