Have you graduated in 2023 with a 2:1 or above (or projected for 2024) and do you have a passion for statistical analysis and extracting insights from data?
What is the Programme?
Its for 2 years. You will be involved in live projects that deliver what matters. This role supports the strategic decision making for all areas of the airport and provide insights through data. Part of the programme will include a leadership development module with the other graduates and a dedicated coach (a senior leader from the business) to help build resilience in the workplace.
The Sales and Operational Planning team are integral to Gatwick Airport's business objectives. They maximise growth minimising capital investment. This programme is at the heart of the operation, supporting the delivery of stable operations at Gatwick Airport.
Department activities include managing the airport capacity, forecasting passenger demand, passenger flow and airfield simulation, and setting out future infrastructure requirements.
As part of the Graduate programme, you will spend the first year in the Operations Planning team, supporting the delivery of stable operations at Gatwick Airport. Principle accountabilities are:
- Forecast modelling to support airport operations and strategic decision making
- Leverage the use of statistical analysis to drive performance
- Provide insight on future growth potential and impact
- Drive continuous improvement
In the second year, you will join the Capacity Planning team, responsible for delivering operational analytics and modelling requirements at Gatwick Airport. Principle accountabilities are:
- Creating 3D computational Airport models of the Airfield, Terminals, Security, Baggage, Airspace, and Landside and simulating flows.
- Developing Python and/or Excel models/solutions to drive efficiency.
- Analysis of demand and capacity to inform medium-long-term capacity requirements to maximise growth opportunities while limiting the need for investment in new airport infrastructure.
- Model trends to drive decision-making on investment and associated solutions to any areas of pinch point identified.
- Leverage statistical analysis involving data collection, data interpretation, and finally, data validation to enhance decision-making.

Do you have what we're looking for?
- Minimum 2:1 degree in maths, engineering, computer science, or operational research related subjects (Graduated 2023 or projected for 2024)

Selection Process

- An assessment centre with group and individual activities as well as a behaviour-based interview with the opportunity to meet managers and explore the airport.
