Some testimonials from our current Engineering Apprentices:

I'm now in my second year of the apprenticeship scheme and I have worked so far with the airfield engineering team and the Life Safety team, as well as completing my first year at college.

One of the best things about this apprenticeship scheme, is the variety of engineering we are exposed to. The technicians are very welcoming and are always happy to help whenever I have any questions regarding both work and study.

Each day is different at the airport and there is always the chance to learn something new.

For me the work/study/life balance is very good. Although we both work and study, we also still get the time out of work to pursue our hobbies.

Liberty Frankland, Engineering Apprentice

‘As an Engineering Apprentice at Gatwick Airport, every day offers exciting new experiences. The airport relies on engineers to keep the operation running smoothly 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Having 8 individual engineering sections across the airport, there is always different equipment and systems to work on. I could be carrying out routine maintenance on the shuttle, to then fault-finding on the lighting circuits across the Taxiways.

I am extremely grateful to have been given this opportunity to work in such a unique environment, gaining the practical skills and qualifications required to carry out the job role. Being a part of maintaining the fluidity of the World's busiest single runway airport, is what makes Gatwick a rewarding place to work.'

Ollie Turner, Engineering Apprentice

Please note that successful applicants will be asked to attend an assessment centre which is likely to be held during the May Half Term break.
