This role takes an office first hybrid approach here at London Gatwick, with three days a week in the office, two days remote, managed around the needs of the business.
What is the role?
Reporting to the Senior Commercial Operations Manager, this role is responsible for the on-going development and delivery of the passenger accessibility strategy and helping to deliver London Gatwick's commitments on accessibility under the Decade of Change framework. This involves working with key stakeholders, industry experts and capital investment project teams to ensure that Gatwick provides the highest level of service to all passengers with accessibility needs in line with regulatory requirements and Gatwick's accessibility and passenger experience strategies.
What will you do?
- Development and delivery of the Passenger Accessibility Strategy and initiatives, supporting delivery of London Gatwick's commitments on accessibility under the Decade of Change framework.
- Lead on accessibility matters and promote best practice across the airport campus through influencing operational, commercial and capital investment/construction activities.
- Ensure London Gatwick meets its regulatory requirements on accessibility and address identified deficiencies.
- Engagement with internal and external stakeholder groups including, Civil Aviation Authority, Department for Transport, Independent Gatwick Accessibility Panel and other accessibility bodies to ensure London Gatwick meets its regulatory requirements on accessibility.
- Identify innovative solutions to drive continuous improvement in accessibility at London Gatwick.
- Support Capital Investment Projects and provide guidance on industry standards and requirements during project life cycle.
- Manage the ongoing development of London Gatwick's Accessibility training package for airport teams to promote awareness of disabilities and non-visible disabilities and conduct periodic reviews to maintain relevance of material.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to gain industry recognised accreditation standards for London Gatwick to promote and enhance our reputation.
- Support the Commercial Operations team with compliance-based auditing, assessments of service standards and review customer service provided by the Assisted Travel service provider as required.
- Support the delivery of the wider Gatwick customer experience strategy as required.
Do you have what we're looking for?
- An accessibility, diversity and inclusion professional who has experience of developing and delivering programmes and services to disabled people.
- Has experience of delivering disability awareness, inclusion, and accessibility projects to ensure greater inclusion within busy operational environments.
- Familiar with and with a good understanding of UK accessibility and DE&I regulations, standards and guidelines.
- Data compilation and analysis skills, with ability to present data in a clear and concise way.
- The knowledge and gravitas that can provide advice on accessibility and disability to generalist and specialist teams across the airport.
- Experience of leading and coordinating the activities between multiple stakeholder groups - aligning them to and working to achieve positive outcomes for disabled people.
- Highly organised and the ability to manage competing demands and agendas and maintain a high pace of delivery.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain relationships with stakeholders who may have specific areas of interest but create an environment of collaboration.
- Strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build trust through inclusive behaviours and personal integrity.
