Have you recently graduated in 2025 with a 2:1 (or projected for 2026) or above in a relevant Engineering degree level qualification (desirable disciplines include civil, mechanical or electrical engineering), or equivalent specialist qualification.
The core purpose of this role is to deliver a safe, efficient and resilient asset base (across a wide variety of assets including airfield, roads, baggage, terminals and specialist systems). This role sits within GAL's Engineering Team and combines engineering with project management.

What is the Graduate Programme?
The role contributes to delivering to core service standards and ensuring the passenger experience is as smooth as possible. Bringing with them their experience and knowledge of emerging practices, processes and technologies, the successful candidate will work with the wider team to ensure Gatwick maintains momentum to meet its Net Zero commitments.
As well as giving you exposure to innovative projects in a fast paced environment this role can also offer you:
- Influencing and implementing best practice across Engineering to improve working techniques and objectives.
- Responsible for creation and management of core project management related documentation to support delivery of projects to time, cost and quality, with minimal impact to the operation.
- Engage with the wider team to deliver outputs to drive progress towards Gatwick's sustainability targets.
- Drive Environment, Health & Safety culture across all teams to reduce incidents & promote a safe working environment.
- Producing periodic reports and presentations, bringing data together to inform decision-making and review KPIs.
- Influencing and implementing best practice across GAL to improve ways of working and project delivery
- A development programme that builds on your commercial awareness, wider skills and development.
- Insights into Aviation and its impact and associated industries, including sustainability and commerciality.
Do you have what we're looking for?
- Engineering qualification to degree level (2:1 minimum, desirable disciplines include civil, mechanical or electrical engineering), or equivalent specialist qualification. (Achieved 2025 or predicted for 2026)
- Full UK driving licence (desirable).
- Ability to work with technical professionals across multiple disciplines.
- Understanding of the requirements for the successful participation, planning and delivery of project work.
- Knowledge of project management principles/competencies.
- Knowledge and understanding of reporting metrics and experience in analysing and manipulating data sets into reportable outputs.
- Basic overview of Statutory Regulations, British Standards and industry best practice.
- Work towards working knowledge of Safe Systems of Work and regulatory and statutory compliance (e.g. CDM, confined spaces, hot works, etc.).
- Knowledge of UN Sustainable Development Goals.
