This role takes an office first hybrid approach here at London Gatwick, with three days a week in the office, two days remote, managed around the needs of the business. 

What is the role? 

The Category  Lead will deliver agreed objectives in line with the procurement strategy. 

The Category Lead will support the delivery of a category strategy, driving value through being a trusted commercial advisor who supports and challenges stakeholders' requirements.

They will provide procurement support and guidance ensuring adherence to procurement governance and levels of authority procedures.

What will you do? 

• With support of Procurement Managers, develop Procurement Strategy for assigned categories, aligning commercial review and strategic opportunities to business priority.
• Provide clear sourcing strategies for BAU commodities to support internal stakeholders and simplify the P2P process.
• Lead project work, with support of the Procurement Managers
• Providing advice and professional procurement support to internal stakeholders..
• Support completion of commercial and contractual requirements, including end to end procurement cycle for categories Utilise appropriate methods to keep contracts up to date, including provisions on ESG and DEI.
• Shared responsibility for maintaining the SAP supplier database.

Do you have what we're looking for? 

• CIPS or willingness to study desirable (equivalent experience will be considered)
• Proven experience supporting Strategic procurement with knowledge of goods and services
• Knowledge of drafting and negotiating contracts to meet significant business objectives and to achieve operational outcome
• Knowledge of Strategic Procurement with ability to work with and develop category strategies or a strong strategic thinker with quick ability to learn Procurement approaches.
• Working knowledge of tender processes ( RFI, RFP, RFQ, ITT)
