This role takes an office first hybrid approach here at London Gatwick, with three days a week in the office, two days remote, managed around the needs of the business.
What is the role?
Reporting to the General Counsel, this role combines responsibility for our ethics framework and data protection programme. You will set the vision, craft policies, and champion a culture where compliance and data protection are embedded in everything we do.
We are looking for a dynamic leader who will empower the business and drive smart growth. In this business-focused role, you will strike the right balance between risk management, and commercial priorities—turning ethics and data protection into a true enabler of success.
What will you do?
- Craft and lead a strategic multi‑year Ethics and Data Protection plan for London Gatwick, aligned to the business strategy and operational realities of a busy airport.
- Develop and implement cutting-edge policies and procedures that meet industry benchmarks and best practices, ensuring frameworks remain sharp, practical, and effective.
- Design engaging, multi‑channel campaigns that make Ethics and Data Protection relatable and actionable for diverse audiences.
- Champion our Speak Up culture
- Lead or oversee fair, thorough investigations into compliance or privacy breaches, and ensure findings translate into actions and learning.
- Stay ahead of evolving guidance and regulations
- Serve as primary liaison with regulatory authorities on compliance and privacy matters.
- Conduct thorough audits and assessments to ensure effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
- Work closely across departments to foster a culture of compliance and integrity.
- Develop and deliver compliance and privacy training programs for employees globally.
- Lead a small high-impact team.
Do you have what we're looking for?
- Law degree or equivalent advanced degree required
- Certifications such as CIPP or CCEP preferred.
- Proven strong immersed experience in compliance and privacy, including strong experience in a proven leadership role.
- Deep understanding of data protection and compliance regulations.
- Experience advising organisations to enable growth.
- IT-savvy and cyber-aware, comfortable with CCTV, biometrics, and emerging technologies.
- Skilled in creating engaging materials and delivering training both online and face-to-face.
- Sector Knowledge: Airports, transport, energy, utilities, or other large-scale infrastructure environments is desirable
